Sitting 84 — February 11, 2026

This was a brief sitting dedicated almost entirely to tributes following the Tumbler Ridge school shooting. The Prime Minister, Leader of the Opposition, and leaders of the Bloc Québécois, NDP, and Green Party each rose to express their grief and solidarity with the community of Tumbler Ridge, British Columbia, where nine children were killed and 25 others injured in an attack at a secondary school. The Prime Minister spoke movingly of parents waking to a different world, while the Leader of the Opposition reflected on the universal experience of sending children to school hoping they will play, perform, and return home safely. The Speaker closed the tributes by noting that the House was united in its shock and sadness. A House management motion was adopted by unanimous consent before the House adjourned.
