The House of Commons Standing Committee on Health considered a motion from Dan Mazier (CPC) for the production of numerous unredacted documents. The motion covered several topics, including an audit of the Canadian Dental Care Plan, documents related to the PrescribeIT program, agreements between Canadian Blood Services and Grifols, and data shared with Health Canada under a controlled substances exemption. Mazier argued the documents were needed for transparency, citing a $250-million "PrescribeIT scandal" and concerns about the dental plan's management.

Sonia Sidhu (Liberal) moved an amendment to delete the section of the motion concerning PrescribeIT documents, arguing the request was too broad, raised concerns about commercial sensitivity and intellectual property, and could compromise future government negotiations. She spoke at length in support of her amendment. Matt Strauss (CPC) countered that the Liberal position amounted to a filibuster to hide a failed program.

The committee then adopted several changes by unanimous consent. Helena Konanz (CPC) successfully moved to remove all references to "except with Quebec" and "except from Quebec" from the motion, and to strike the requirement that documents be provided in both official languages. Maggie Chi (Liberal) moved to add a clause stating that all documents will respect the Privacy Act. Finally, Matt Strauss (CPC) moved a separate motion, adopted by unanimous consent, requesting that the Chair obtain final reports from Health Canada and the Manitoba Chief Medical Examiner regarding deaths at Grifols plasma collection centres. The meeting ended without a final vote on the main motion or the remaining amendments.
